Although, I knew that the port 8200 was open and configured by myself I didn't remember which service corresponds to such a port. Then I used Google looking for a fast answer and NOTHING! just the same output than this obtained from nmap: TCP/UDP port 8200 -- Service trivnet1.

The obvious alternative was looking for the port number into the config files of my server:
hugo@lamaitre ~# grep -rn 'port.*8200' /etc/* /etc/minidlna.conf:2:port=8200 /etc/minidlna.conf.dpkg-dist:2:port=8200 hugo@lamaitre ~#
that's all!

The TRIVNET protocol is used by minidlna that I installed last year, to connect my cell phone, my tablet and my TV for sharing media files and storing them on the server.

As the home page of the ReadyMedia (formerly MiniDLNA) says: " ... ReadyMedia is server software with the aim of being fully compliant with DLNA/UPnP-AV clients. It is developed by a NETGEAR employee for the ReadyNAS product line. ..."

Probably it is more convenient to use something more relevant as information about the trivnet service. Personally I prefer naming the service as UPnP since DLNA uses Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) for media management, discovery and control.
Sat, 27 Sep 2014 23:06:00 +0200 Hugo Jiménez-Pérez
